This is my macquette in its location ( not quite finished)
It is called "Wall of Colour" - A welcome to Sydney for visitors as they disembark from the cruise ships that berth at Walsh Bay by the Bargangaroo site.
The site has a very long white wall - a blank canvas so to speak so an ideal location to fill with coloured panels as a public Artwork.
The aim being, to brighten and add colour to what appears like the entry to Sydney via the back door.
There is also an alternate site on the massive stonewall escarpment on Sussex St in front of Bangaroo.
Good luck everyone getting all this complete

I have chosen Sea Pink by Marc Moser - Aarhus Sculpture by the Sea
‘Change your focus’ - Sea Pink was created in 2011 and is made of painted black steel pink acrylic glass.
Sea Pink sits on the sand in Aarhus Denmark and appears like a pair of sunglasses left behind at the beach. On closer view one realises they are over size being at one with the surroundings and also creating a shift in significance that causes a changed perspective for the viewer. I don’t consider it to have any historical associations but the artwork is site specific and interactive as viewers can lean on, look through, over or under and experience the various changed perspectives it creates. The beach setting clearly enables the viewer to become part of the form of the artwork. The oversized everyday object is transformed and the changed values also change our own focus and perspective so the art becomes transforming.
The origin of the object is turned outwards (Moser, 2011) and creates a shift in the way we are able to view the world as if one were looking through rose coloured glasses at the differences it creates to the sea and the view. The artist also successfully creates a deeper shift in reminding the viewer to rethink our perspective on life. The artwork provides an opportunity for transformation through a changed outlook where the new perspective of an oversized object although it may bring cracks and breaks these can become positive elements as Moser describes
“In this context, cracks and breaks are supporting elements, detachments are space, and enlargements are cognitions” ( Moser, 2011)
I wouldn’t change it I think its perfect they way its is.

HI Yes I have too. My other units the lectures were very easy to locate in Echo. The only thing I did last unit was change to Firefox instead of google chrome as many small videos in the study content only came up in Mozilla firefox.
I'll check again today as well.

Hi I placed my box onto a lamp to see how the light reflected onto the white shiny surface with what I thought was a great result
It is still there in our loungroom looking a bit od during the day but when light adds a different look
Oh I just wanted to say the talk by John cleese is very fun and inspiring - great tips that is easy to forget in the drive to accomplish an assignment Thanks Di

I wrote a small piece about what white boxes mean to me in my Iportfolio for what its worth
Interesting exercise
